Here's a delicious European-inspired asparagus recipe for you.
Ingredients:
1 bunch of fresh asparagus
2 egg yolks
1 tablespoon lemon juice
200g unsalted butter, melted
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Trim the woody ends of the asparagus spears and discard.
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the asparagus and cook for about 3-5 minutes, or until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
In a heatproof bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and lemon juice until well combined.
Place the bowl over a saucepan of gently simmering water (make sure the bottom of the bowl doesn't touch the water). Slowly drizzle in the melted butter while continuously whisking until the sauce thickens and becomes smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Arrange the cooked asparagus on a serving platter and drizzle the hollandaise sauce over the top.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Note: Hollandaise sauce is a classic European sauce that pairs beautifully with asparagus, providing a rich and creamy flavor. Feel free to garnish with a sprinkle of chopped fresh herbs, such as parsley or chives, for added freshness.
